COLUMBIA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – South Carolina candidate for U.S. Senate Annie Andrews announced Thursday that former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg has endorsed her campaign.

Dr. Andrews’ campaign shared the following statement from Buttigieg:

“As a pediatrician who has spent nearly two decades in children’s hospitals, Annie Andrews knows firsthand how Washington’s failures have hurt South Carolina families. In Washington, Annie will be focused on the future, expanding affordable health care options, investing in public schools and our students, and ensuring that we have an economy where one job is enough. Officials said that Buttigieg will be in Florence where he will keynote S.C. Dems annual Spratt Issues Conference on Aug. 22, where Dr. Andrews will also give remarks.
